Oil and Gas industry to benefit from risk reduction opportunity

PRI and Achilles work together to offer technical audits to suppliers and buyers in Oil and Gas Performance Review Institute (PRI), the global leader in technical audits within critical industries such as aviation, space and defence and medical device manufacturing, is collaborating with Achilles Information, an established provider of supply chain risk and performance management in the oil and gas industry. Together, they will focus on supply chain performance through the provision of independent technical scope-specific audits for the oil and gas industry. This will support suppliers and buyers to drive operational excellence, reduce risk and lower costs. The technical audits will be conducted by PRI’s global team of process experts who have the skills and experience to conduct audits in a range of fields. These include heat treating, metallic materials manufacturing, non-destructive testing, surface enhancement and welding. Jon Steffey, Director, Transportation and Power Generation Program, Performance Review Institute commented, “PRI has thirty years’ experience delivering the Nadcap critical process audit program for the aerospace industry. Applying PRI’s extensive technical expertise and knowledge of auditing complex manufacturing process will reduce the cost of quality for the oil and gas industry, drive down the risk of process failure, and ultimately contribute to improving safety. We are delighted to be working with Achilles to provide this new service to the oil and gas sector.” Will Nelson, Head of Audit at Achilles Information commented, “We are really excited about this new collaboration and the rigorous technical assurance PRI delivers. The services this partnership delivers will build up and complete the assurances delivered through our current audit programmes.” Jon Steffey discussed the cross-sector application of scope-specific audits, including what the oil and gas industry can learn from the aerospace industry at the event, Achilles Connect: Oil and Gas Europe, on 19 February, in Aberdeen.
