Nadcap Supplier Survey Results Announced

At the June 2016 Nadcap meeting in London the Supplier Support Committee (SSC) announced the results of the 2015 Supplier Survey. This was the seventh Survey issued by the SSC, which has conducted Supplier Surveys biennially since 2003. The Surveys focus on topics of significance for companies holding or pursuing Nadcap accreditation to gauge the state of the industry and identify areas where Nadcap stakeholders may contribute to continual improvement. The 2015 Supplier Survey received nearly 3,000 responses from 50 countries around the world. Significantly, the Survey received the greatest number of non-US responses in its history, 1,387 which represents a 30% increase over the last Survey in 2013 and reflects the increasingly global nature of the industry. Over 90% of respondents were enthusiastic about the positives of Nadcap. They identified multiple benefits including improved overall quality, customer satisfaction and process efficiency. They also reported that Nadcap has helped win new customers or projects and has reduced escapes and defect rates. Redundant audits are a key issue for Nadcap accredited suppliers. The Survey results indicated that recent extra efforts in this area have had a positive outcome, as more than one-third (35%) have experienced a reduction in redundant audits. Moving forward, the key action from the Survey will be to focus on continuing to enhance communication with the supplier base, as this was identified by the respondents as the number one area of improvement for the SSC.
