Rockwell Collins achieves first in CAAP

Company earns Distinctive Accreditation for its Supply Chain Management

The Performance Review Institute is pleased to announce that Rockwell Collins, one of the pioneers in the design, production, and support of innovative solutions for aerospace and defense products, recently earned Counterfeit Avoidance Accreditation Program (CAAP) accreditation for its supply chain management at its Cedar Rapids site in the U.S.A. Rockwell Collins has become the first company in the world to receive accreditation for the supply chain management of its EEE aerospace products from CAAP. In order to achieve the accreditation from CAAP, Rockwell Collins underwent a rigorous audit. It was conducted by a highly experienced technical expert and based on the stringent AC7401 CAAP Audit Criteria for accreditation to AS5553 for avoidance, detection, mitigation, and disposition of counterfeit electrical, electronic, and electromechanical (EEE) parts. These criteria were created by the industry itself through the CAAP EEE Parts Task Group, the participants of which include the Boeing Company, Lockheed Martin, and the Defense Contract Management Agency, among others. Reflecting on their success, Bruce King, Senior Vice President of Operations for Rockwell Collins said, “By ensuring compliance to the demanding CAAP audit criteria, Rockwell Collins is sending a clear message to our customers that we have the systems in place to ensure high-quality manufacturing of our products. […] Our teams across the business have worked extremely hard to earn this accreditation, which positions our company as an industry leader in counterfeit avoidance.” Any company who is interested in gaining an accreditation for CAAP should contact Jim Lewis (jlewis@p-r-i.org), Program Manager at the Performance Review Institute.
