First Company to Achieve MedAccred Accreditation for Sterile Device Packaging

11 February 2020 The first MedAccred Accreditation for Sterile Device Packaging has been awarded to Quality Tech Services, LLC (QTS) based in Bloomington, Minnesota, USA. QTS is now one of an elite group of companies who hold MedAccred Accreditation across a range of critical processes, including cable & wire harness, heat treating, plastics injection molding, plastics mechanical assembly, plastics extrusion, printed circuit board assembly, sterilization and welding. To gain accreditation, QTS has been recognized by medical device manufacturing industry experts as having demonstrated their ability to meet all the rigorous requirements of the new Sterile Device Packaging audit criteria. As part of the industry-managed approach of the MedAccred program, all audit criteria are developed by technical experts from the medical device industry. The Sterile Device Packaging audit criteria were developed by BD, Boston Scientific, Medtronic, Johnson & Johnson, Philips, and Stryker. QTS received accreditation for the following Sterile Device Packaging sub-processes:
  • Assembly and Closure/Sealing of Packaging Systems
  • Bags / Pouches
  • Blisters / Trays with Lidding Material
